A cute and *affordable* outfit for a casual Labor Day BBQ

I can’t believe it’s September already!  Do you have any plans for Labor Day weekend?  We are going to grill out, and I wanted to share a cute outfit that is perfect for a casual Labor Day barbecue.  Bonus:  each piece is under $30!

Daily Ritual Jersey Midi Dress ($29). I’ve been wearing this super flattering and insanely comfortable dress every single week! The muted brick red color is great for fall, but the sleeveless cut is perfect for the our warm North Carolina weather (if the weather is cooler where you are, the dress also looks great with a denim jacket). The midi length is elegant, but also very practical for chasing around my three-year and for scooping up my 6-month old baby. Bonus: the stretchy jersey fabric/scooped neckline is nursing-friendly for you breastfeeding mamas out there!

Sunnies ($15). I love the look of Madewell’s Layton sunglasses, but I hate dropping any significant amount of money on sunglasses (I’m too prone to losing them or scratching them). This pair has a very similar shape and is only $15!  I have it in the color “Amber Frame (matte Finish)/Brown Gradient Lens.”

Slides ($20).  We have a no-shoes policy inside our house, and I wear my 6-month old baby constantly. As a result, I really embrace shoes that are easy on/easy off (my baby hates it if I have to bend over to fiddle with shoes). These slides from Target fit the bill perfectly! The cognac color transitions to fall beautifully, and to my eye, the imitation leather looks extremely realistic. They are super comfortable but elevate any outfit. One quick note: they run *very* small and a bit narrow. I am a true size 6, but I exchanged these twice and ended up with a size 7.5.
